We are Midnight Circus Games a new studio specialising in comedy games. 
We are looking for a Unreal Engine gameplay programmer with an interest in comedy and innovative gameplay, to help us create our first title. This is a mid-level position with a lot of opportunities to grow while being supported by a team of experienced developers. 
We are currently in pre-production for our first game which is a social satire blending narrative and life-simulation gameplay. You will be working in a small team environment that embraces cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The Team

We are three international game developers behind Midnight Circus Games: Jennifer Schneidereit (Tengami, Astrologaster), Katharine Neil (Astrologaster, Over The Alps) and Simon Bachelier (Another Lost Phone, Alt-Frequencies). From AAA games to independent titles, we draw on our experiences to produce a new generation of comedy games. We aspire to build a flexible and inclusive workspace.

Required profile


  • 3+ years experience in the games industry
  • Good practical knowledge of Unreal Engine
  • Proficiency in C++
  • Experience with 3D games
  • Good English communication, as our team is international
  • Based in France

When to start

We are looking for someone available from the beginning of April. This is a remote position, with the option to come to work from our office in Lyon post-Covid. We do not crunch.

Salary range 

38 000€ (gross) per year - negotiable based on experience. Permanent contract.
